Muir Mathieson

James Muir Mathieson OBE (24th January 1911 – 2nd August 1975) was a Scottish conductor and composer born in Stirling. Mathieson attended the Royal College of Music in London and would go on to conduct and compose music for films – most notably conducting Bernard Herrmann’s score for Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo in 1958.
