TreeLink Stirling

TreeLink Stirling is a registered environmental charity located in Stirling that commit to planting more trees within the local community.

The charity formed in the winter of 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic. The formation of the charity happened after a group of people with the same shared appreciation of the ecological, social and cultural importance of trees and woodland areas.

The charity, currently made up of eight trustees, has aims to become the voice for trees and woodland areas within Stirling. Following the registration of the charity and initial formation, they acquired funding from Stirling council and new volunteers were recruited to begin new projects.

TreeLink currently has five ongoing projects:

Tree Nursery

Based in Braehead Community Garden, TreeLink has developed a space where volunteers/gardeners can seedling are grown before being planted within the community.

Occasional events take place and the Tree Nursery has already supported three community groups.

Woodland Management

The Community Woodland Action Group aim to support and improve neglected woodland areas located within Stirling. They look to get local communities involved and support the upkeep of woodland areas by planting trees, collecting tree seeds and preparation work.

Borrowmeadow Partnership

In a partnership with Stirling Council, TreeLink Stirling have planted over 800 new trees at the Borrowmeadow site. Damaged tree guards and deceased trees have since been removed to make way for new planting.

Kildean Partnership

The Kildrean Partnership is an ongoing consultation with partners including Equi-Power Riding for the disabled to work on a project that plants new trees at a new riding facility at the Kildean Loop.

Street Trees

The TreeLinkStreet Tree Working Group is a project that aims to repopulate urban and populated areas with trees. TreeLink believes this will promote well-being within communities as well as provide cleaner air and provide homes for urban insects and creatures.
